What is Klinefelter Syndrome?

Contents:  One child or adult.  Contains:  Have at least one extra X chromosome.  Sterility.  Small testes will produce varying amounts of insufficient testosterone.  May also contain language delay, learning disabilities, and possibly problems with self-esteem.  May experience dental anomalies and/or respiratory ailments.  We may develop enlarged breasts and/or experience decreased amounts of male secondary sex characteristics.  May experience frustration-based outbursts and/or adolescent behavioral problems.  However, he may only develop the first characteristic listed and may otherwise be fine.  Klinefelter Syndrome can be treated with Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT), also known as testosterone therapy, which can help to prevent osteoporosis, hypothyroidism, or diabetes.
