POSSIBLE SYMPTOMS
ASSOCIATED
WITH KLINEFELTER SYNDROME OR XXY
AND EDUCATIONAL INFORMATION
The
reason for this section is to create listings of all of the possible
symptoms associated with Klinefelter Syndrome, which is considered to
be a spectrum disorder. Klinefelter Syndrome or XXY is a
condition that occurs in 1 in 500 live male births and has many
possible symptoms, although everyone with this condition is an
individual and unique and does not usually have the same symptoms or to
the same degree. By providing the below lists, these
symptoms potentially will either assist your doctor in diagnosing
either your son or yourself with this condition, or potentially can
assist you in further identifying with this genetic condition.
The educational list and additional information may be of assistance to
you and your son's educators to assess and determine appropriate ways
to help in teaching him. Again, Klinefelter Syndrome is a
spectrum disorder and these symptoms may or may not occur with your
child.
If
you should run across any symptoms that you feel should be on one the
lists, but is not currently listed, please inform me via
email.
I realize that you may feel that a number, if not all, of the symptoms
can be a part of a variety of other conditions. This is why
diagnosing Klinefelter Syndrome is so difficult and why a number of
males are not diagnosed for many years, if at all. This
information is designed to assist in the diagnosis of the
condition.
