Dr. Kyriakie Sarafoglou is a multi-specialist (Pediatric Endocrinology, Inborn Errors of Metabolism, and Human Genetics) who is active in patient care, clinical research, and education of medical students and pediatric residents.  She willl be speaking about intersex and gender issues. AAKSIS has repeatedly been requested to provide a Speaker at its National Conferences who is qualified to address this issue.


STEFAN AND CHRISTINE SCHWARZ
Stefan, an XXY/XY mosaic is married to Christine, the mother of a 14 y.o. XXY son who was dxed in utero. Stefan and Chris met through their participation at XXY National Conferences. Stefan is the owner of the website <klinefeltersyndrome.org>. Stefan, who is now 38 y.o., was dxed XXY/XY at age 25. Since his diagnosis, Stefan has been an activist in raising awareness about Klinefelter syndrome among educators and the general public.  Stefan and Chris will be speaking about "Navigating the Medical and Educational Systems from a Parent's Perspective". Stefan and Chris feel very strongly that this is a topic that needs to be presented by a parent who has a special needs child.
Stefan and Chris also look forward to meeting, "in person", many of the people they have met through their participation on the XXY information and support e-mail lists.
